Here's what you'll find in this issue:
💵 When Did You Last Change Your Prices?
Most small businesses set prices by checking what similar ones nearby charge and picking something close. That tells you what the market expects, not what your work costs you.
Your price has to cover more than materials and labor. Rent, insurance, software, and vehicle costs all get paid out of what you charge, and so do the hours you spend on quotes, invoicing, and driving. Owners who haven't put those numbers side by side are often working from a price they set when they opened, before their costs moved.
Three offices in the Nussbaum Center will go through your numbers with you, free and confidential:
SBTDC at NC A&T. Financial analysis, cash flow, and pricing. By appointment, serving Caswell, Guilford, Randolph, and Rockingham counties.
GTCC Small Business Center. One-on-one counseling, plus seminars on bookkeeping and financial basics.
SCORE NC Piedmont Triad. Volunteer mentors covering the 12-county Triad, with no cap on how much time you use.
